Congressman Proposes a "Do Not Text Registry"

*Excuse me while I shake off the giggles*

Another "esteemed member of congress" is proposing a do-not-text registry to prevent SMS SPAM. Well and good Mr. Congressman but aren't you biting off more than you can chew here? Stopping unwanted SMS from the service providers (Globe, Smart Sun) is a simple thing but what about those that comes from the low life scammers using prepaid accounts? What about the SCAMs that circulate around using these prepaid accounts? Do you have a proposal on how to go after those low lives?

The esteemed gentleman claims that he receives three to four unwanted text messages a day. If these messages are coming in from the service providers, then he is the one who subscribed to these "service". I mean, I've been a cellphone user since the early days of GSM and I have yet to receive unwanted messages from the telco I'm subscribed with -- because I DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THEIR SO-CALLED VALUE ADDED SERVICE.
