Gesture-Based Keyboard: Rehashes old Idea
The Hindu : Business : HP launches gesture-based keyboard
HP India announces a "revolutionary" system for capturing non-english input for the computer. They dubbed this system as the "Gesture-Based Keyboard". What it basically looks like is a Wacom tablet. What could possibly be different here is that the software running the tablet -- it should have an intelligent handwriting recognition reminiscent of the PalmOS' Grafitti input method.
This will indeed be useful for computer users whose primary language does not use the Roman alphabet but calling the mash-up of existing technology as revolutionary makes me scratch my backside and think "is HP running out of bright ideas?"
Hmm... using a device that looks and performs like a Wacom Tablet, bundle it with Grafitti = revolutionary system? I don't think so...
