The Sony NW-A-series Network Walkman

ATRACLife New NW-A (002, 003, 005) Series to Debut Soon

Has Sony finally found its "magic bullet" in its search for the iPod-killer? Maybe they'll hit it right with this new series of Network Walkmans. They seem to be targetting the same segment of the market currently dominated by the iPod Nano and these babies are supposed to cost less than the Nano. The NW-A series Network Walkman will have 512 MB, 1 GB and 2 GB variants and they should fit nicely on the void recently vacated by the iPod Shuffle. Unlike the iPod Shuffle, the NW-A series will have a one line OLED display so there is a way to see what's happening on the player.

Their diminutive style and "lickable" colors should make them attractive to the young market.

...and being a Sony, sound quality should be outstanding.

I have a sony nwe507s. sound quality is awesome and the unit looks sexy.

But the software sucks to the max.
SonicStage is sony's response to iTunes and i must say, its not very stable (when working with the media device).

Great battery life though. Almost 50+ hours.
