Talkin' Tech: Shocking News: PhilMUG Abandons Apple!

Dear PhilMUG members,

Today marks a major milestone in PhilMUG history.First and foremost, we would like to thank John C. Dvorak for the heads-up in his PCMag.com article indicating Apple's impending move to dump OS X for Microsoft's Windows Operating System (Vista, we think it's gonna be called). The transition has already started, with Apple adopting Intel processors in its new computers.

We have strong evidence that Apple, Adobe and Microsoft have abandoned all efforts in compiling binary versions of its pro applications, Creative Suite and Office for Mac respectively, the real reason being that OS X will no longer exist beyond 2006.

As such, we at PhilMUG, being the forward-thinking lot that we are, have decided to act in advance. We have decided to SWITCH the entire group in line with Apple's 30th anniversary, which is today, April 1. Effective immediately, we shall be known as the Philippine Microsoft Users Group (PhilMUG).In accordance with the above, we have implemented a new look for the site and have designed a new logo as well.While we expect many of you to object to such a move, we are confident that one day (hopefully soon), you will thank us for all of this.

We encourage all to start posting in our new discussion forums to help ease the pain of switching to the new OS. Let's face it, we will have to love it eventually. Windows, here we come. All hail the great Gates!Thank you for your understanding.
