Windows XP is now a Nagware

The recent software update for Microsoft Windows XP now tattoos "This copy of Windows is not genuine ..." on the screen of a computer with a pirated copy of Windows XP. This is Microsoft's way of shaming users of pirated copies of their widely used operating system. It is further reported that Windows will randomly pop out the anti-piracy message on screen while the computer is used.

Will this step drive users of unlicensed Windows to buying licensed copies? Well, I'm sure a lot of the affected users will be downloading a "patch" to fix this "problem in the coming few days.
