AUTO-TXT: Provides an extra layer of car protection
A new car security system that identifies car owners through the Bluetooth element of their mobile phones is set to revolutionize the fight against car thieves. Auto-txt immediately identifies a car as stolen if the car is started with the keys but the mobile phone is not present. This unique feature allows a Bluetooth enabled device, such as a phone or PDA, to authenticate the vehicle owner, providing an enhanced level of security.

Picture this: You're in a hurry and left your keys in the car. A bad guy comes along and tries to drive your car but even if he used your keys to start your car, it refuses to start at all! Mr. bad guy gets off the car and looks for a new victim. You return to your car, starts it and goes home safely. Magic? Nope! Just Bluetooth. Auto-TXT is a system for protecting your car. This is done by putting a BlueTooth module on the car which is paired with a phone or a PDA. The car is then configured not to start without the paired device.

Wonderful tool, indeed, but one better make sure he carries his cellphone with him all the time.
By the way, Bernie, I'm having a dilemma with my HP laptop purchased half a year ago (hidden defect/motherboard issue). I wonder if you could find time to check out my blog post about it -- HP PAVILION dv1312 AP — A LEMON? -- and share your thoughts.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to resolve it with HP Philippines; seeking tech-savvy fellow bloggers' comments, I thought, would be of valuable help.
Yup, I should have bought a Mac!
Many thanks,
Eric
