Meet My Best Friend: Snopes.com

As an avid internet user, I've had my share of junk emails selling *ehem* Performance Enhancing Drugs, offering a percentage in Ex-African (and lately Filipino) leaders' booty and some plain old Urban Legends. I am one of the people who actively respond to senders of obvious hoaxes and urban legends and whenever I feel especially malevolent, I do a reply to all and debunk the hoaxes and urban legends just to shame the clueless sender into stopping this baseless and waste-of-bandwidth exercise in futility.

In debunking urban legend and hoaxes, there is one single resource that has been a lot of help to me and that is non other than Snopes.com. Snopes.com has an impressive compilation of well-researched articles about urban legends, hoaxes and rumors and they spend the time and resources to either debunk or even prove whether that FYI email you get is the real deal.Just now, I just received, for the umpteenth time, the email regarding the so-called "Gay Jesus" film that is supposed to petition the non-existent producer from showing the non-existent film. Well, as I've said, I did a reply to all saying that its a lot of bullcr@p and directed them to the Snopes.com page that has the explanation.So there...
