Windows Live OneCare goes... uhm... Live!
Subtitled: How to squeeze more money out of your customers.
So, after a lot of beta testing, Microsoft announced that they are finally going live with their Windows Live OneCare. BIG FREAKING DEAL! They release software that is full of security holes and they charge an arm and a leg for those programs. "Enterprising" individuals are earning big bucks from compromised Windows systems -- making those computers send out spam without the owners knowing about it. Now Microsoft is charging users to fix the problems that came with their products? Great business strategy!
So here's what Microsoft is basically doing: Imagine a car manufacturer(Microsoft) that sells a car(Windows) with a defective door lock. People can use those car but if they park the car and leave it, anyone can easily enter the car to do anything they want with it. People who owns the car goes to a different guy to have the locks fixed. The car manufacturer noticed this and saw that the guy fixing the locks is earning a decent amount of money. Now, that manufacturer also wants to fix the defective locks (poor security) but it wants its owners to pay for the repairs... real slick! If that manufacturer has done its job well in the first place and made the locks work the way its suppose to, then there would not be a problem at all.
Now, can anyone blame me for not pledging my allegiance to Bill?
