ID-on-Cellphone: Something to Look Forward To?
An entry on engadget caught my eye: A Japanese school has implemented a project that stores the student's IDs on their cellphones. The rationale behind this project: Students tend to forget everything else *except* their cellphones. They are also incorporating some other functionality on this ID-on-a-Cellphone project -- it allows students to open doors and make purchases.
I highly doubt if this will be adopted locally considering that a lot of schools here actually *bans* cellphones inside their campuses. I personally wouldn't have second thoughts about giving my kid a cellphone since it allows both of us to instantly be in touch should the need arise.
