Drowning in SMS SPAM!

It looks like SMS Spammers are working overtime!

In the past few days, I have been receiving these unwanted messages and I wonder if there is anything a cellphone subscriber can do to stop it...

Here are some of the SMS SPAMs I have received so far:

All the above messages were received by my cellphone within a span of one week! Some even came at the most inopportuned time (while driving, on a meeting, etc.). I have to consult some of my lawyer friends and ask them if there are any legal recourse to stop this recent avalance of unwanted TXT messages.

Oh, and it just struck me that these SMS SPAMMERS are getting crafty... the last two messages are part of a single marketing blurb but they came from two different numbers... a way to circumvent any blacklisting application that some cellphone/smartphone have... crafty in an evil kind of way..,

SMS SPAM Galore!

Image:CellPhone.png
In a span of less than 24 hours, I have received two fricking SMS SPAM (also known as SPASMS). Here's SPASM #1

From: +639152050115

Hi... We offer u ez& affordble CashLoan 50K-500K @ only 0.98%/mo. NoCol. Use4 CrdtCrd Pyoff, Tuition,Bsns, etc. We cn send u mor dtls tru Fax or Email. - jerome:)

And here's SPASM #2

From: +639054113460

CASH LOAN from CHINATRUST with interest rate of as low as 1.39% per month. We also have CARLOAN financing BRAND NEW or SECOND HAND UNIT,CAR MORTGAGE OR/CR only PAYOFF BANK BALANCE with an interest rate of 1percent per mo.,lower interest for brandnew.INTERESTED...OUR OFC.FNES.2974226.2973432,2973741,4877984 LOOK FOR MS.JINKY..

The second SPASM is especially irritating because it apparently comes from a well known local bank! If their strategy for getting more clients is to bombard them with unsolicited messages, then they won't get any business from me!

Is there a way to prevent my phone from receiving these unsolicited Text messages? I sure hope this post attracts the attention of the NTC.

Die SMS SPAM, Die (Part Deux)

It looks like the SMS SPAMmers are working overtime! I just received another SMS SPAM from someone I don't know and it goes like this:

From: +639155996355

Message: Gud day, dis is MAE ANN,accredited loans agent, wud u b Nterested in a No Colateral cash loan, frm 10k to 1M, @ .98%-1%-1.39-1.7% interest/mo., if yes, jaz txt ur name & cntact# or simply txtbk or col @ 4195415/4196620; luk 4 Mae ann.if n0, dsregard dis msg,0r sve dis msg 4 future rferences. Thnx & GODBLESS

This "offer" came from a person I don't know and I REALLY hate SPAM in any shape or form. This is plain and simple invasion of privacy. I wonder if the NTC (National Telecommunications Commission) has jurisdiction over these types of "guerilla marketing"?

Tip to SMS SPAMmers, please have the decency to use proper spelling. How can a potential client trust you when you relay your message in TXTSpeak?
