Controversial "Google Print" is Online!

One of the projects being undertaken by Google is "Google Print". This project seeks to scan books and make its content searchable through Google's facilities. I have played around with Google Print (this can be accessed through your web browser by typing "http://print.google.com" on the address bar) and so far, I was able to search and find some classic books such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "Sherlock Holmes" and Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Tarzan" series.

I think the hoopla the authors and publishers raise about this new service is unfounded. I find it a bit difficult to read from Google Print and I'd rather buy the book rather than stare at a computer monitor all day to read a book -- I think I'll enjoy reading while curled up on a couch than in a computer table.
