"It's Showtime" on Sept. 12, 2006

Apple users around the world are starting to feel it as Apple rumors are beginning to heat up again around cyberspace. This is due to the upcoming Apple event on September 12 dubbed as "It's Showtime".
It's Showtime
The rumor mills have the following to say about the event:

  • The iPhone will be announced but its release will depend on the availability of a HSDPA network in the U.S.
  • There will be a *real* iPod update -- one that sports a decent screen for videos plus a 1,001 other features geeks wish are integrated to it.
  • Availability of full-length movie downloads at the iTunes Music store to complement the new *real* iPod update.
  • Core 2 Duo (Merom) based portables or at least a revision to the current MacBook line.
  • A Mac Mini "tower" with a Core 2 Duo (Conroe) processor
  • An enhanced Mac Mini that finally has a full-featured media-center capability.
Well, as for me, a simple "Revision B" of the current MacBooks would be enough. I've been waiting for that for weeks now since I don't like what I'm hearing about the apparent shortcomings of the current crop of MacBooks. Although I wouldn't mind if Apple resurrects the Apple Newton with up-to-date features. (I can dream too!)
