Wikipedia Used to Spread Malware

A news item from Tech2.0 reports that malicious individuals were able to insert a link on the German version of Wikipedia that claims to fix the latest version of "Blaster" but instead downloads a malware on unsuspecting computers.

This is one of the dangers of "user-created content" if left unchecked -- there will always be someone to screw things up on an idealistic project such as Wikipedia. But the other advantage of user-created content is that once the bogus link was discovered, responsible users can always fix it immediately.
