This email looks really fishy because of several things:

  1. First and foremost, I am not a "Starbucks Member" nor had I signed up to be one.
  2. If I was indeed a member, they would address me by my name or at least by "Sir", not by "$username"
  3. If this email does come from Starbucks, why would they make me claim the alleged $200 Starbucks Card on a separate server when http://www.starbucks.com/ exists?
  4. If this email *did* originate from Starbucks, why would it make me to to "http://opplete.com/jcpenney/..." in order to "unsubscribe"?

I almost fell for this since I recently got my Starbucks 2006 planner by drinking around five gallons of coffee but I remembered that whenever I fill up a form of any kind, I always give out my gmail address since I rarely open my Yahoo mail. Good thing my "spider sense" tingled immediately otherwise I would either be a victim of "Phishing" or my office Windows machine would have been infected by one of those Trojans.

Starbucks drinkers: BEWARE!
