Digital Pen: Will This Encourage Me To Do Handwriting?
I've always *hated* writing by hand. I'd rather type my thoughts on my laptop or use Palm's handwriting recognition (Grafitti/Grafitti2) than write using pen and paper. This feeling stemmed from the fact that my actual hadwriting is barely readable and I find it too tiring. It was one of my "weaknesses" when I was studying -- I hated taking notes.
Fast forward to yesterday: I discovered this website that offers "Digital Pens" which are suppose to translate handwritten notes into computer-readable text. Looks like a good idea and I would have nagged my parents for one if this gizmo appeared on the market when I was still in school.
This particular product (from pegatech.com) clips onto the top of a regular pad of paper and it's suppose to digitize whatever was written on the paper. It can store the written notes on the Mobile Note Taker for later upload to a PC. Using Microsoft's OneNote application, this can be digitized and handwritten texts can be converted using OneNote's handwriting recognition.
Hmmm... looks like the person who will have the advantage of using this in school will be my son (see my avatar).
